A while back you did an outstanding sketch of J. Fulton (The Tailor) from Sleep No More. I remember seeing that actor as Fulton but I don't know his name. Would you happen to know who it is? Many thanks!

Wow, thank you so much! I drew (or tried to— I erased and redrew his face way too many times so I kind of settled) J. Fulton as played by David Botana.  I adore his Fulton for many reasons, and he plays him a bit differently than the other actor I’ve seen in the role, which isn’t to say that one is better than the other, but in the end they come out as two very different characters. It’s quite interesting, in a good way. I’ve also seen Botana as the Boy Witch (coolly insolent) and the Bellhop-turned-Taxidermist (delightfully discordant). He’s really great no matter who he’s playing, but I’ll always have a certain fondness for his Fulton.  I hope you liked him too, Anon!

He whispered to me of tragedy, his lips on my neck for just a moment, his quickened breath warm against my skin before he tore away, stealing through the shadows and into the night beyond.

My inability to solve this will haunt me forever.
I have every intention of trying to figure it out after work.
So mysterious.

You’re overthinking the first clue, I promise. (;  I got it after some research and realized that what I was looking up didn’t actually matter.  I will say it’s tricky, though. Now I’m here:
THIS is going to be tough.

I just want to draw a really despondent Macbeth.  I have some more ideas for this but it’s not coming together the way I want it to.  Bleh.

Mr. J. Fulton, Tailor of Gallow Green. I’m not sure if anyone can quite figure him out (myself included), but I’m quite partial to him because, among other reasons, he was the first and last character I interacted during my first trip back in January. His outfit is about as accurate as I can remember, although I’ll admit to very purposefully giving him a waistcoat despite the fact that I don’t think he wears one. The way I see it, since the man seems to be quite the talented tailor, he’s going to be wearing the best suits he can, and let’s face it: three piece suits are just better. Going by the period, though, he’d probably be wearing one anyway.

I don’t know which version of this I prefer, so I decided to post both. I had bigger plans for this, but I’m absolutely awful at both tonal values and lighting, so I just had to settle. The first just has a light gradient thrown over it, because it scanned very brightly, and the second has much more tweaking done. The feel I was going for was something akin to the dusty cemetary on the Third Floor, where he buries the skeleton. I’m not sure it worked, but I don’t mind much. I still like this a lot, overall.

Getting a handle on J. Fulton but still just not quite.  I think it’s tougher because I honestly haven’t quite figured out his character— for months I’ve been assuming him to be some unlisted Undertaker/Coroner/Mortician, and probably sounding like an idiot, because I didn’t see him in the Tailor’s at all.  It makes a ton of sense to finally learn who he is, but I still have a hundred questions. (Also, it means I’ve never seen the Taxidermist!)
I don’t think he’s in cahoots with the Barman, though— if only because I saw the Barman give him a bad drink and they had a scrap immediately after.  Then again, I came in just Fulton spat out the drink, so I’m not entirely sure of the context.  He also seems very wary of the Witches.  He’s still a favorite of mine, either way.
Does anyone, by chance, have ANY idea what kind of animal skeleton he buries, though?  I’m guessing it’s some sort of rodent just because of the size but I suppose it could have been a bird too— admittedly I didn’t get a great look before he swaddled it in cloth.

SNM #11: The Time I Cock-blocked Perez

franceskoncan:

Before the show, my friend Emmy and I were chain-smoking up a storm and we played a game called “Guess What Role Hot Guy Is On As”.  I am almost as good at this game as I am at all Super Nintendo games, which is to say really, really good.  Then we played a game called “See How Long It Takes For Me To Find Hot Guy”, which isn’t even really a game because it always takes about 30 seconds.
